Will your graphics card work with SOLIDWORKS?

Whether you’re a beginner using SOLIDWORKS software for the first time or a long-time SOLIDWORKS user, it’s important to make sure that you have a certified graphics card in order to ensure the best possible performance and stability of your system. Selecting the right graphics card will make your designs look great, and also help avoid many issues, including system crashes and other graphics problems.

Rather than spending hours researching online, we’ve made it easy to see if your video card will work with SOLIDWORKS. Our website includes a page dedicated to graphics cards–just use the drop-down menus to pick your computer model, video card included, and your version of SOLIDWORKS. You’ll know instantly if it’s a match.

SOLIDWORKS Graphics Cards

If you’re shopping for a new computer, or just upgrading your graphics card, it’s important to remember that you’ll need a workstation-grade card that supports OpenGL. Cards made for gaming generally will not support all of the functionality in SOLIDWORKS, and you may experience performance issues using these cards. Suggested cards include the NVIDIA Quadro line, and AMD’s FirePro and FireGL lines.

If you have any questions regarding graphics cards, please contact your SOLIDWORKS reseller. You can also discuss various hardware options with other SOLIDWORKS users on our Hardware and OS forum.
