The COFES Conference, Scottsdale Arizona
Once again I am attending COFES — the Congress On the Future of Engineering Software. Approximately 200 people from the CAD/CAE software industry. Not many customers — mostly software developers, press, and industry consultants.
COFES draws me back year after year because of the networking. In the modern era of Twitter, Facebook, email, GoToMeeting, etc. it is still nice to see people face to face. At COFES I can renew my friendships and professional discussions with people like:

Talk about efficient. One easy trip to Phoenix for a couple of days and I get the opportunity to talk with all these great people in a reasonably small group comfortable setting.
New technologies, new ideas, old friends. Hopefully some things to bring back to Dassault Systemes SolidWorks HQ that will help us do even better things for our customers.
