Lucky Number 7

By all accounts, Matt Lombard is a busy guy.  Matt runs his own consulting business, pops in on just about every SolidWorks discussion board offering help and advice, and represents the SolidWorks User Group Network in the Southeastern US.  But Matt’s real talent is starting user groups.  May 23rd marks the first meeting of the newly formed Northern Virginia SolidWorks User Group, the seventh user group that Matt has had a hand in bringing to life.

Matt started the Rochester SolidWorks User Group in 1999, and after a relocation, turned his attention to Baltimore/DC in 2002.  The Central Virginia group (which spawned SWUGLY the same year) got going in 2004, Blue Ridge (Blacksburg, VA) in 2005, and the Lower Alabama group in 2006.  Lucky number 7 is the Northern Virginia group, and Matt tells me he has three more slated to come on line this year.

Congratulations Matt, keep up the good work.

My official title is Senior User Advocacy & SolidWorks User Groups - but most people just call me "The User Group Guy". I've been a SolidWorks user since 1997, and was one of the founding members of the SWUGN Committee. Since starting the Central Texas SolidWorks User Group in 1999, my career path has led me to DS SolidWorks and a dream job supporting the SolidWorks User Group Network worldwide.
