What Was Your Favorite SOLIDWORKS World Special Event?

Details for the SOLIDWORKS World 2017 Special Event have been announced, and it looks like we’re in for another great time.

This time of the year always gets me reminiscing about some of my favorite SOLIDWORKS World special events.  I’ve been to everyone of them, so its hard to pick my overall favorite.  Here are three that stand out:

SOLIDWORKS World 2011 – San Antonio – Cowboys Dancehall
There was an indoor rodeo and lots of Shiner Bock beer, but my favorite part was watching 800 or so SOLIDWORKS users dancing, swaying, and fist-pumping to local band LC Rocks.

SOLIDWORKS World 2012 – San Diego – Gaslamp Quarter
Great food, good music, and just a short walk from the hotels.  And these nice ladies.

SOLIDWORKS World 2016 – Dallas – Gilley’s
For the first time, we booked a nationally known band, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals.  The show was fantastic, and I spent the entire set standing only one person deep from the stage. Oh yeah, I got to meet her too!

Those are just three of my favorites, which SOLIDWORKS World special event was your favorite.

My official title is Senior User Advocacy & SolidWorks User Groups - but most people just call me "The User Group Guy". I've been a SolidWorks user since 1997, and was one of the founding members of the SWUGN Committee. Since starting the Central Texas SolidWorks User Group in 1999, my career path has led me to DS SolidWorks and a dream job supporting the SolidWorks User Group Network worldwide.
