SolidWorks World 2013 Partner Profile: CAD Partner GmbH

One of the things we’ve heard from SolidWorks World attendees over the past few years is that you’d like to learn more in advance about the SolidWorks partners who set up booths in the Partner Pavilion. So now through SolidWorks World 2013, we’ll be posting a series of blog entries about some of the partners you might think about checking out, and the people who will be representing them. Today we hear from CAD Partner GmbH.

Tell us about CAD Partner. What do you do?

CAD Partner was started in 1989 and has continued to establish itself as a successful software developer and retailer. We specialize in efficient 3D-CAD software distribution for engineering and plant production. Our Smap3D product family covers everything from design administration with a standard parts library to 3D pipeline planning

Our experienced staff provides professional consulting and marketing as well as comprehensive, demand-oriented support – from standard solutions to customer-specific, complete CAD solutions! Our competent user-support offers full technical assistance in development, software implementation, training and supervision.

What products and services do you offer for SolidWorks customers?

CAD Partner offers a complete solution for plant design as an add-on for SolidWorks. Smap3D Plant Design is a single software solution integrating three different areas: P & ID, 3D piping and isometrics. With this software, complete systems such as 3D mechanical structuring and piping design can be processed directly in the SolidWorks environment and highly automated.

Smap3D Plant Design product allows the user to concentrate on his designing work as the system supports him in creating complete pipes according to defined pipe specifications. The P&ID data is also available to the user in the 3D environment. This saves time and eliminates mistakes in getting from the 2D schematic to a 3D model. The Isometric tool then creates the right isometric according to the style. Our customers claim 30% to 50% time
savings by using Smap3D Plant Design.   Smap3D_Plant_Design_Grafik_02_prodess-chain_RGB_englisch_end

Why should SolidWorks World attendees visit your booth?

Attendees will see a live demo of Smap3D Plant Design and have the chance to meet and talk with our specialists. Networking is the best part of SolidWorks World! We look forward to sharing experience, knowledge, issues and solutions with everyone involved in this industry. https://www.smap3d.com/Piping/en/pipeline-planning.html

SolidWorks resellers will also have the chance to get information about the target market, license and profit opportunities in this market, and insight into the strengths and weaknesses of market competitors such as AutoDesk, PTC, Bentley, Intergraph, and AVEVA. The companies and market to which we offer our solution/service must also be able to make an informed decision about these competitors. Are they true competitors, or can their solutions (or a component of their solutions) play an important role in projects such as nuclear technology, pipeline simulation, earthquake technology, etc.?  In this regard, we are interested in exploring how we can satisfy customers’ needs, evaluate their processes and ultimately determine how customers can compete better in their market. The communication between different software types, as well as between departments, branches, colleagues, suppliers and their customers is very important in today’s industry and we want to improve the whole process for our customers.
