Five Questions Friday with Steve Chidester of Zuken

Steve Chidester Zuken Name: Steve Chidester

Title: Head of Product Marketing

Company: Zuken

1. Why did you choose to do the work you do?
It was a natural progression. I started as a printed circuit designer, became an applications engineer, and then moved into product marketing. Once I got into marketing, I really liked it, so I worked on a marketing degree while I was working in the field. Today I get to travel the globe expounding the benefits of some of the top products in the world – it’s great.

2. What is your proudest career moment?
1999 – The day it was announced that the product line I managed at that time was number one in the market. It not only says your team is doing great work, but that customers think so too.

3. What goal inspires you most?
Each time we release a new product or version and show it to a customer, hearing the customer say it is great stuff.

4. How has your partnership with SolidWorks made a difference in your business?
SolidWorks is a first-rate organization. Working with the different people has been positive and productive. Each time we do anything jointly with SolidWorks, it is a success.

5. Where’s the best place you’ve traveled?
It is really hard to choose. I love history and wherever I go, I try to find out a little more about the history and, when I can, see historical sites. I enjoy it whether it is U.S. history or faraway places like the Great Wall, the Tower of London, Neuschwanstein Castle, or the Taj Mahal.
