Things to think about with plastic parts

There is a lot to think about when designing plastic parts. Is the part drafted correctly, are there any undercuts, are their any thin regions….

SolidWorks has tools to address each of these concerns.

One tool that is often underutilized by plastic part and mold designers is MoldflowXpress. MoldflowXpress can simulate the injection mold filling process of a plastic part based on the SolidWorks 3D design. Users simply specify the material, injection location, and process conditions and MoldflowXpress lets them know if the part can fill and how long it will take.

For more info on MoldflowXpress please refer to the SolidWorks online help
