Hokkaido Hakodate Technical High School Opens Fab Lab in Cooperation with Dassault Systèmes Japan

Hokkaido Hakodate Technical High School has been a technology education leader in Japan providing job skills and quality education to their students. With cooperation from Dassault Systèmes Japan, Hokkaido Hakodate Technical HS also has created an innovative Fab Lab for their students to explore new projects with our latest software tools to support digital fabrication.

In a letter to Gian Paolo Bassi, SVP of 3DEXPERIENCE Works and Customer Role Experience at Dassault Systèmes, Professor  Daizo Fujikawa stated, “Hokkaido Hakodate Technical High School  welcomed 197 new students to our school this spring. The Fab Lab we’ve been building since last year is finally complete. We’ve created a space where teenagers can fully unleash their creativity!”

Fujikawa-san went on to say, “While SOLIDWORKS is our primary 3D CAD platform, students all use Chromebooks and will also learn SOLIDWORKS xDesign (100% browser-based) technology, on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform,  for certain modeling tasks. This summer  we’re organizing a 3D CAD workshop called the “Digital Camp” in collaboration with the local Board of Education, with generous support from Dassault Systèmes Japan.”

Fujikawa-san was especially grateful for the SOLIDWORKS materials from Junko Arai at Dassault Systèmes Japan and Chris Morse, SOLIDWORKS EDU team.. Thanks to their contributions, the classroom atmosphere has transformed dramatically, and their students are more motivated than ever.

Thank you Fujikawa-san for sharing with the SOLIDWORKS Community.  We look forward to continuing our collaboration.

Design well, Marie
