Data Management Insights from SOLIDWORKS Champions

Earlier this year, we took the opportunity to survey our SOLIDWORKS Champions for their thoughts on Data Management.  Our SOLIDWORKS Champions are some of our strongest users and their feedback is always valued!  Sean O’Neill, Lisa Costa, and I had a chance to have a roundtable conversation earlier this year to discuss the results, many of which I’m sure you will identify with.  You can check it out below.

Managing CAD Data in Windows

Almost 70% of our survey respondents say that Windows Folders are not an effective way to manage design data when working with others.  Not a big shocker – but have you thought about why?  Windows folders are challenging for managing CAD relationships, which in turn have a knock on effect for trying to manage revisions.  Data Management solutions like Collaborative Industry Innovator from the 3DEXPERIENCE Works Portfolio and PDM Professional, provide simple and effective ways to handle both relationships AND revisions.
