SOLIDWORKS World 2016 CAM Partner Preview

One of the benefits of attending SOLIDWORKS World is the opportunity to get your hands on the latest fully integrated software solutions that were designed just for you—the SOLIDWORKS user. With over 110 exhibitors in this year’s Partner Pavilion, be sure to keep some time open on your schedule to preview these solutions and see all the innovative products that were brought to life with SOLIDWORKS.

In this post, we’ll be previewing some of the state-of-the-art, computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software—developed specifically for SOLIDWORKS users—that  will help you take your designs to the real world easier, faster and more accurately than ever before.

OPEN MIND

OPEN MIND develops hyperMILL® CAM software, a Gold-partner integrated solution, used to generate toolpaths from 2.5 axis up to 5-axis, and also for mill-turn.  OPEN MIND will be displaying its new release of hyperMILL® 2016.1, which features the new performance package hyperMILL® MAXX Machining for drilling, roughing and finishing.

In Booth #712, OPEN MIND will be demonstrating its 5-axis tangent plane machining for the first time in the U.S. This innovative strategy, developed specifically for plane-machining applications, can save users up 90 percent of the time is takes using traditional methods with a high-surface quality when a conical barrel cutter is used. The technology includes 5-axis simultaneous or indexing modes, smooth connects, and full collision control.

CNC Software Inc.

CNC Software Inc. provides software solutions based on its users’ needs to solve simple to complex design and machining problems. Mastercam, CAD/CAM software is used for 2- to 5-axis milling, turning, wire EDM, 3D design and drafting, artistic relief cutting, Swiss machining, surface and solids modeling, and router tooling. Mastercam® for SOLIDWORKS allows you to program parts directly in SOLIDWORKS, using toolpaths and machining strategies from Mastercam. Mastercam’s toolpaths are integrated directly within the SOLIDWORKS environment, and can be applied directly to a part of assembly.

In Booth #400, SOLIDWORKS attendees will get a sneak peak of its upcoming release, Mastercam 2017 and can enter a drawing to win 1 of 6 ISCAR tooling certificates. Attendees will also learn about how they can buy a standalone seat of Mastercam X9, and immediately have access to the integrated Mastercam for SOLIDWORKS at no additional cost. You can also interact with CNC Software on Twitter @Mastercam or online here.

C&G Systems, Inc.

C&G Systems, Inc. will be showing its CG CAM-TOOL for SOLIDWORKS, which offers high-speed machining and hard milling. It is focused on machining Molds and Dies, although it is not limited to those applications. C&G Systems’ products include: CAM-TOOL, CG CAM-TOOL, CG Mold Design and CG Press Design. CG Press Design and CG CAM-TOOL are now certified as SOLIDWORKS Gold Products and CG Mold Design will soon become a Certified Gold Product.

In Booth #200 attendees will see steel and aluminum samples of various shapes created directly from a CNC machine and see live demonstrations of how easy CG Press Design, CG Mold Design, and CG CAM-TOOL is to use in the SOLIDWORKS environment. For more information on C&G Systems, check out its web site.

SolidCAM

SolidCAM’s powerful CAM software is a SOLIDWORKS Gold Partner product offering the tightest SOLIDWORKS integration to provide users the most advanced CNC programming right inside their SOLIDWORKS.  SolidCAM also offers its patented iMachining, which enables CNC machines to cut harder materials than what the machine was intended, allowing users to avoid the cost and lead-time of purchasing additional CNC machines.

Be sure to stop by Booth #603 to see SolidCAM doing live cutting that shows SolidCAM and iMachining in action. Visitors will also see first-hand how SolidCAM’s iMachining enables an old, desktop CNC machine to cut ridiculously fast,  even in hard materials, while maintaining extremely long tool life.
