SOLIDWORKS User Group Network News and Notes
Summertime is typically a little slower when it comes to SOLIDWORKS User Group meetings, but there’s still plenty going on in the SOLIDWORKS Community.
One of our South Florida groups got a new name recently, deciding on Broward County SOLIDWORKS User Group. With the recent addition of the Palm Beach County SOLIDWORKS User Group, the distinction was necessary. Roberto Ansourian has done a great job with the Broward County group since he took over leadership, and attendance has never been higher.
Sal Lama and Jeff Niederman made the rounds of user group meetings last week to very enthusiastic crowds. Greater Evansville SOLIDWORKS User Group leader Michael Marshall tells me it was their biggest summer turnout of all time. Bryan Ray and the Louisville SOLIDWORKS User Group also had a great turnout for Jeff and Sal, with their largest attendance since 2012.
Look for more of Jeff, Sal, and other members of the SOLIDWORKS Product Definition team at SOLIDWORKS User Group meetings this year.
The brand new Western Illinois SOLIDWORKS User Group held it’s first meeting last week hosted by The Knapheide Manufacturing Company in Quincy, IL. At 24 attendees, they had a really good turnout for a first meeting.
Coming Up
The toughest part of being a SOLIDWORKS User Group leader is convincing their members to get up in front of a room full of people and talk. Ricky Jordan and Brian McElyea have found a magic potion it seems, there are three user presentations at the upcoming North Alabama SOLIDWORKS User Group meeting on July 23rd.
The Southern Kentucky SOLIDWORKS User Group meets in Bowling Green on July 23rd. One agenda item caught my eye:
5:30-7:30 Theatrical BATMAN/SOLIDWORKS Assembly Presentation by Glen Shirley
I don’t have any idea what this presentation will entail, but anytime you can reference Batman in your agenda is a good thing.
SOLIDWORKS CEO Gian Paolo Bassi and I will visit three SOLIDWORKS User Groups in August – Yakima, Seattle, and Portland. We’ll be visiting a few customers in the area as well and I hope to take a ton of pictures to share here. Come join us August 17th, 18th, and 19th respectively.
