I'm Going to SOLIDWORKS World (Japan)

I’m Going to SOLIDWORKS World!

In May of 2011, Yoshihiro Dobashi started the first independent SOLIDWORKS User Group in Japan.  The group has been growing ever since, and that’s caught the attention of a few folks in Japan.  During the week of November 10th, I’ll get a chance to speak to hundreds of SOLIDWORKS users about the benefits of belonging to a SOLIDWORKS User Group.  With a little help from our SOLIDWORKS team in Japan, and some enthusiastic SOLIDWORKS users, I expect to come home with at least five new SOLIDWORKS User Groups that will cover most of the country.

This will be my first ever trip to Japan, and I am more than just a little excited.  I’m looking forward to eating locally (I’m a Sushi lover), meeting the rest of the SOLIDWORKS Japan team, and of course, indulging in a SOLIDWORKS World conference and all that it entails.  I’m not absolutely sure what to expect out of the week, but I can’t wait to find out.

Check out the website (Google Translate works well) for SOLIDWORKS World Japan.

My official title is Senior User Advocacy & SolidWorks User Groups - but most people just call me "The User Group Guy". I've been a SolidWorks user since 1997, and was one of the founding members of the SWUGN Committee. Since starting the Central Texas SolidWorks User Group in 1999, my career path has led me to DS SolidWorks and a dream job supporting the SolidWorks User Group Network worldwide.
