Headin' South

Dan says CarnivalWorks was a huge success.
Dan says CarnivalWorks was a huge success.

I’ve been in the Boston area this week attending a company function, but I did manage to make my way out west to Springfield for the Western Mass SOLIDWORKS User Group meeting on Tuesday.  It was great to finally visit John Matrishon’s group, and having Ed Gebo, Ed Poole, and Tom Cote there was an added bonus.Next week I’ll head to the Southern US with Jeremy Regnerus to help Ricky Jordan, Brian McElyea, and the members of the North Alabama SOLIDWORKS User Group celebrate their 10 year anniversary on Tuesday the 23rd in Huntsville.  We’ll follow that up with a couple of Tennessee meetings with Nicole Walden and the Chattanooga SOLIDWORKS User Group, and new Knoxville-Oak Ridge SOLIDWORKS User Group leader Tony Brun.  Lots of travel and drive time, but well worth it.  If you’re in the area, I hope you will join us.

There’s plenty of other action in the SOLIDWORKS User Group Network next week:

Southern region SWUGN rep Todd Blacksher helps kick off a new SOLIDWORKS User Group in Kearney, Nebraska on September 22nd.  Brad Jorgenson and Jarod Mettler came out of nowhere to form the South Central Nebraska SOLIDWORKS User Group just a few weeks ago.

Kevin Goosie’s TriCounty SOLIDWORKS User Group welcomes Kevin Thorp (mentor) from the First Robotics Team #3489 on the 25th.

Highly rated SOLIDWORKS World presenter Neil Custard shows up in Nebraska on the 25th for a joint meeting of the SOLIDWORKS User Group of Nebraska and the Omaha Nebraska SOLIDWORKS User Group.

In total, there are 9 meetings on the SWUGN calendar next week.  Click here for a complete schedule.

My official title is Senior User Advocacy & SolidWorks User Groups - but most people just call me "The User Group Guy". I've been a SolidWorks user since 1997, and was one of the founding members of the SWUGN Committee. Since starting the Central Texas SolidWorks User Group in 1999, my career path has led me to DS SolidWorks and a dream job supporting the SolidWorks User Group Network worldwide.
