SolidWorks World 2014 – "New Products" Category

If you are attending SolidWorks World 2014 and have been busy selecting your breakout sessions, you may have noticed that there is a new category this year – “New Products”.  Dig a little deeper, and you will see that this category is all about SolidWorks Mechanical Conceptual (SWMC).  Over the past year some details about this new product offering have emerged, but for most people, SolidWorks World 2014 is the first chance to see it live and in-person.

The first breakout session I will be attending this year is titled simply “Conceptual Design”.  As a remote employee, I get to hear all kinds of good things about SWMC, but I haven’t yet had a chance to see it.  I chose this session for two reasons – conceptual design is said to be the main focus for SWMC and the presenter is John Picinich.

JohnPicinichJohn has been around the SolidWorks Community for a long time, first as a reseller with CADimensions, and now as a Senior Product Portfolio Manager at DS SolidWorks.  I finally got the chance to see him present at the September 2013 Tech Valley SolidWorks User Group meeting, and I was very impressed not only by his knowledge of the subject, but also for the entertaining way he presented the material.

John (like everyone at DS SolidWorks) is super excited to get this chance to show SolidWorks Mechanical Conceptual in San Diego and I know you won’t be disappointed.

I’ll see you there.
