This Week in the SolidWorks User Group Network (07/08 – 07/12)

I'm in the office this week, but that changes dramatically starting with the SWUGN Summit – Denver on the 16th, and continuing on through the SWUGN Summit – Minneapolis in late August.  In between, I will visit SolidWorks User Groups in Yakima, Portland, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Las Vegas.  And let's not forget the SWUGN Summit – Detroit July 23rd, nor the SWUGN Summit – Columbus on August 6th.  And then it gets really busy in September and October.

A brand new SolidWorks User Group is up and running in Duncan, Oklahoma, and they'll have their first meeting this week:

I once drove from Sioux Falls, SD to Fargo, ND on what may be the straightest highway in the country.  I wouldn't mind being there for the summer weather, and for this weeks Sioux Falls SolidWorks User Group meeting.

The San Diego SolidWorks User Group wasn't the first, but you can bet they've had more meetings than any other group in history.  In August, Aaron Kelly and I wll help them celebrate their 200th meeting.  In the meantime, number 199 is this week.

I stil miss the days when Wes Cobb and I would trade emails at 3:30 in the morning, but Phil Behm has done a great job with the WNC-Asheville SolidWorks User Group.  I'll finally get to visit in late September with Gian Paolo Bassi.

Bill Casnovski has been running the Central Texas SolidWorks User Group for a long time now, in fact, longer than I led the group.  I guess I can't call it "my group" anymore (well, maybe I will anyway).

User groups are a valuable resource to all members of the SolidWorks community. The ability to network with peers and partners helps your company become more productive. Take the time to find your local user group or if there is not one in your area, look into starting your own.
