SolidWorks World 2012 Partner Profile: SpaceControl #sww12

One of the things we've heard from SolidWorks World attendees over the past few years is that you'd like to learn more in advance about the SolidWorks partners who set up booths in the Partner Pavilion. So now through SolidWorks World 2012, we'll be posting a series of blog entries about some of the partners you might think about checking out, and the people who will be representing them. Today we hear from SpaceControl GmbH of Germany.

1. Tell us a little bit about SpaceControl.

SpaceControl develops 3D input devices for CAD systems as well as industrial applications and robotics. Our roots go back to the 90s when we invented the SpaceMouse to control the robotic arm of the Space Shuttle Columbia.

2. What products do you sell that might appeal to SolidWorks users?

For this show we're focusing on our new product, the SpaceController. It is a 3D mouse that allows you to control your objects and assemblies in SolidWorks in all three dimensions at once. This allows a more intuitive and ergonomic way to work with SolidWorks.

3. How can your products or services help make a SolidWorks user’s life easier?

With a 3D mouse it's possible to move your object in all six degrees of freedom. Since you spend lots of time during your process to look at what you do, the SpaceController will speed up your workflow significantly. Besides the fact that you will be more productive, the SpaceController will also improve the ergonomics at your desk.

4. Why should SolidWorks World attendees visit your booth? What will be special or exciting?

With our PowerWheel and our Wheel Function Launcher we brought the technology of a 3D mouse to a whole new level. Since the PowerWheel now allows you to trigger any function you can imagine you won't need your keyboard anymore and you can work even faster and more intuitive. We are looking forward to show this to everybody who visits us at SolidWorks World 2012. We also have a surprise for anyone who stops by – but we won't say what it is in advance.

5. How can customers learn more about your products?

SolidWorks World attendees can find us at booth #236 in the Partner Pavilion. You can also find us at:
