My Son the Movie Star?

Stone It's quite common for us to spend hours every weekend in the hot Texas sun watching little league baseball.  My son Stone plays for a team called the Mojo Silver, a select league team that plays strictly tournament baseball.  This past weekend was a little different.  We still sat in the hot Texas sun (temps were nearly 100 degrees), we still watched baseball, but this time it was during the filming of a movie.

Stone and his team were cast as extras in a film called "Five Time Champions", reportedly a coming of age movie starring Jon Gries (Uncle Rico from Napoleon Dynamite).  The boys spent 6 hours on the field for what will be about 5 minutes of screen time.

The kids were troopers, running through take after take, and were treated very well by the entire movie crew.  Jon Gries tossed baseballs around with all of them in between takes, they ate their fill of pizza, and seemed to have a good time.  They didn't have any lines, and they won't get paid, but there's a good chance they'll end up on screen. They'll also get their names in the credits.

The movie is slated for realease in "about a year" we were told.
