Gerald Davis makes no bones about it in his SolidWorks World podcast.  If you’re not serious about manufacturing, don’t show up at his "What Sheet Metal Manufacturers Wish You Knew" presentation at SolidWorks World.

All seriousness aside, Gerald is extremely knowledgeable in the sheet metal area, and a great speaker.  I’d show up anyway.
