edges as well to avoid resulting zero-thickness faces)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Finally, you could use surface cut to remove the excess solid part, pay attention to the cut direction and solid to https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/4\/05-2.png 876w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Create a loft surface from the two edges, so that you could trim https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/4\/06-2.png 1186w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Speaking of delete face, there are two additional options \u201cdelete and patch\u201d and \u201cdelete and fill\u201d; both features are designed to remove selected faces and close up the void using the surrounding edges.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Using delete and patch, it allows you to remove selected face and fill it up by extending the surrounding faces:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-27360 alignnone\" https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/4\/07-1-728x218.png 728w, https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/4\/07-1.png 1510w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 417px) 100vw, 417px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And delete and fill allows you to remove selected face and fill it up based on the surrounding edges instead (tangency to face is optional)<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" bodies to individual part files. Mainly there are two ways to do so:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Using insert into new part, you can save out one or more solid bodies into a new part file, to do this, simply right click the solid body\/bodies you would like to save as a new part file:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-27363\" src=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/4\/10-12-300x182.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"424\" height=\"257\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/4\/10-12-300x182.png 300w, https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/4\/10-12-615x373.png 615w, https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/4\/10-12-768x466.png 768w, https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/4\/10-12-728x441.png 728w, https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/4\/10-12.png 1316w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 424px) 100vw, 424px\" \/><\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>If you want to save all solid bodies into separated part files, you could use \u201csave bodies\u201d instead by right-clicking the solid bodies folder, you could even create a new assembly at the same time:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<figure id=\"attachment_27364\" class=\"thumbnail wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-27364 \" src=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/4\/11-13-300x173.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"428\" height=\"247\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/4\/11-13-300x173.png 300w, https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/4\/11-13-615x355.png 615w, https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/4\/11-13-768x443.png 768w, https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/4\/11-13-728x420.png 728w, https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/4\/11-13.png 1228w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 428px) 100vw, 428px\" \/><figcaption class=\"caption wp-caption-text\">(Hints: you could edit the solid body name first to be assigned as the new part filename automatically)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Using both methods, it allows you to create a part file with link to the source part.
