Easily Change Component Colors in SOLIDWORKS&#8217; Drawing View"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Using Layers to Change\u00a0Colors<\/h1>\n<p>From time to time I am asked how to change the color of a specific component in a drawing view. For example, you might want to show one of the components in an assembly drawing view in the color red and all the others as the default black. This can be easily accomplished using layers.<\/p>\n<h1>First Method<\/h1>\n<p>Using either the Line Format toolbar or the Layer toolbar, click Layer Properties.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-23820 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/4\/comp_color1.png\" alt=\"Line Format Toolbar or Layer Toolbar\" width=\"496\" height=\"44\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/4\/comp_color1.png 496w, https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/4\/comp_color1-300x27.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 496px) 100vw, 496px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the dialog box that appears, create a new layer and set the color of the layer to red. Select the newly created layer.<\/p>\n<p>Select the option \u201cFrom Selection\u201d to make the change apply only to the selected view.
