We\u2019ve drafted posts about this before (https:\/\/blogs.solidworks.com\/solidworksblog\/2013\/08\/dont-panic-its-most-likely-not-not-responding.html)<\/a> but I am excited to announce an excellent improvement to the user experience.<\/p>\n For those who have already installed SOLIDWORKS 2019 you might be already familiar with the new functionality. What you may be unaware of however is this can now be enabled in SOLIDWORKS 2018 SP5!<\/p>\n In SOLIDWORKS 2019, we created a project to have our own \u201cnot responding\u201d mechanism and better inform our users of what is going on behind the scenes.<\/p>\n If you have ever saved a large dataset or chosen to rebuild a part or assembly with a large number of features you might have encountered the \u201cnot responding\u201d in the past and wondered \u201cIs SOLIDWORKS still working?!\u201d<\/p>\n The new dialogue box eliminates the suspense! The dialogue indicates what operation SOLIDWORKS is currently working on and still provides the familiar \u201cWait for the command to finish\u201d or \u201cClose SOLIDWORKS” options so users can make better-informed choices.<\/p>\n This function is native function for SOLIDWORKS 2019 onward and as mentioned above can be enabled in SOLIDWORKS 2018 SP5 by choosing \u201cShow the \u2018busy\u2019 dialogue when Windows detects the SOLIDWORKS is non-responsive (requires SOLIDWORKS restart)\u201d found under Tools > Options > System Options > General.<\/p>\n Additionally, if you are a system administrator and would like to enable this new function on all your systems running SOLIDWORKS 2018 SP5, this new option is controlled by the registry key “Enable Custom Busy Dialog\u201d located under: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Solidworks\\SOLIDWORKS 2018\\General.<\/p>\n Thank you to our Development team for continuing to improve our user experience!<\/p>\n Cheers, <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Attention Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, SOLIDWORKS Development continues to make major improvements for our user base and have made tremendous strides to improve our stability!
