After 7 years of working in the reseller channel, I am finally going to attend SOLIDWORKS World in Phoenix Arizona. So it will be my first time at SOLIDWORKS world and my first time in the U.S also. I have to say I am looking forward to it very much.
When you book to go to SOLIDWORKS world, you are presented with an agenda, with many sessions you can choose to attend. The sessions are varied and cover the whole product portfolio (SolidWorks, Simulation, Enterprise, Electrical, Plastics, Inspection, etc). There are also sessions hosted by Partners such as Driveworks and Nvidia.
I have planned my agenda, and will be particularly looking forward to attending sessions on SOLIDWORKS Electrical & SOLIDWORKS Inspection – which are relatively new additions to the product portfolio.
There is a general session each morning which is open to everyone attending SOLIDWORKS World. Having watched previous SOLIDWORKS world general sessions on Youtube, I am looking forward to these also. In previous years they have had inspirational stories of where SOLIDWORKS has been used & hopefully there will be a chance to look at SolidWorks 2016. I am also looking forward to finding out more about the next generation of SolidWorks products such as SolidWorks Conceptual design & SolidWorks Industrial design. SolidWorks Conceptual has been released, so it will be great to see examples of it being used industry.
On The Monday evening I will be attending the CSWE (certified SOLIDWORKS expert) event. This will be an opportunity to mix with other CSWE’s. The event is held at The Duce on South Central Avenue, from what I understand it is a Prohibition themed restaurant/bar. The evening will involve live music, Classic table games and amateur boxing. Should be good fun!
On the Wednesday evening I will be attending the reseller award dinner. Awards will be given out to resellers for various achievements. I will be taking great interest which reseller is number 1 for Customer satisfaction’ – an award which we (Innova Systems) have won in previous years and take great pride in.
I think the event will be a great way to increase my knowledge of SOLIDWORKS and I will be hoping to see some interesting examples of it being used in Industry. It will also be a great opportunity to mix with SOLIDWORKS Customers and other resellers.
