Earlier this week I wrote about DraftSight, one of the other products from Dassault Systemes. It’s been an exciting week here as DraftSight reaches 3 million registered users. In the previous post I provided a tips and tricks eBook and a Getting Started guide as well as information on how to download DraftSight for free.
Today I wanted to show some of the cool tools available in the new DraftSight Professional (which you can try for free as well). DraftSight professional has several tools to help automate common tasks in DraftSight, such as the new Screw Connector, Balloon and Bill of Material tools. In the video below, I show how to create a fastener stack-up in DraftSight, and then document ballooning those fasteners and adding them to a Bill of Materials.
If you haven’t tried DraftSight yet, I’ll just mention it one more time, it’s completely free, so give it a shot. Also, if you’re looking for more information on how to use DraftSight, I highly recommend checking out the DraftSight YouTube Channel where Mark Lyons provides tons of useful tips and tricks for DraftSight like I do here for SOLIDWORKS.
