Passion for aviation and\u00a0education. \u00a0You can feel it this week in Oshkosh, Wisconsin at the Experimental Aircraft Association<\/a> \u00a0(EAA) AirVenture, the largest\u00a0annual gathering of aviation enthusiasts held each summer.<\/p>\n

\"Dave<\/p>\n

We see passion for design in the SOLIDWORKS User Community. Now EAA members \u00a0will have access to\u00a0SOLIDWORKS Student Design Kit – EAA Maker Edition, access to MySolidWorks <\/a>online video tutorials, and MySolidWorks Manufacturing Network, \u00a0for designing and building their own personal aircraft.<\/p>\n

With the support of our SOLIDWORKS Value Added Reseller, GSC (Graphics Systems)<\/a>, members will also receive additional training and design resources.<\/p>\n

\"EAA<\/p>\n

EAA CEO\/Chairman, Jack Pelton<\/strong>, made the announcement on Monday, “\u201cSince its humble beginnings in Paul and Audrey\u2019s basement, EAA has inspired, enabled, and defended our members\u2019 right to take a dream sketched on a napkin at the dinner table to first flight and beyond,\u201d said Jack Pelton, EAA CEO\/Chairman. \u201cSOLIDWORKS is the industry standard for computer-aided design. Aircraft and kit manufacturers from Cirrus to Zenith are designing today\u2019s aircraft in SOLIDWORKS, and now EAA members can get free access to this powerful tool.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"SOLIDWORKS<\/p>\n

Suchit Jain<\/strong>, VP of Business Strategy and Community, and I,\u00a0got to visit with Cirrus<\/strong><\/a>, Zenith Aircraft<\/strong><\/a> , and so many other SOLIDWORKS customers that use SOLIDWORKS for their “day job” \u00a0and want to use SOLIDWORKS at night and on the weekends to design their own plane. \u00a0It was\u00a0SOLIDWORKS user from Nvidia and EAA member, \u00a0Fedor Fomichev\u00a0that connected me with Cory Puuri at EAA.<\/p>\n

\"cirrus<\/p>\n

We also\u00a0toured the field\u00a0with EAA membership manager, Cory Puuri<\/strong>, we visited with Zenith Aircraft’s, “one week plane”, a plane that was built in a week! \u00a0I met the new “Wright Brothers” \u00a0Sebastien and Matt, that are sharing their SOLIDWORKS models with the EAA community, making to modifications to their airplanes. \u00a0 Zenith Air works with Able Flight<\/strong> too. \u00a0I also had lunch with Purdue’s Aviation Able Flight pilot Johnny Ragland and his classmates getting their pilot wings at the Boeing Plaza.<\/p>\n

GSC president, Dave Kasinskas, also gave us a introduction to so many SOLIDWORKS customers – I lost count, then looked up into the sky to see the most amazing airshow!<\/p>\n

My love of planes started when I was young and I used to build model aircraft with my dad.<\/p>\n
