Friday night and another date night to look into 3D Printing. \u00a0Thanks to our new SOLIDWORKS partner, Sindoh, it’s time to bring home a bottle of wine and share with my husband, David, a new 3DPrint technology, 3Dwox.<\/p>\n
Hats off to the engineers at Sindoh. \u00a0This 3D Printer is\u00a0easy to unpack. \u00a0The night got better. \u00a0The 3Dwox printer is\u00a0easy to set up and easy to just start printing \u00a0The cartridge filament\u00a0slides into place. Material comes in PLA and ABS.\u00a0 Time to put the pizza in the oven.<\/p>\n
There are two ways to print – directly through the \u00a0Sindoh interface and through the S<\/a>indoh 3Dwox SOLIDWORKS Add In<\/a>. \u00a0 \u00a0Currently, the Add In must be downloaded from the Sindoh website and installed on your computer with SOLIDWORKS 2016. \u00a0SOLIDWORKS 2016 based Education Edition Academic Year 2016- 2017 will be available in May 2016.<\/p>\n We found great jewelry<\/a>\u00a0– perfect for two mechanical engineers, the\u00a0<\/a>Thingiverse snap together heart pendant. <\/a>\u00a0The first step is\u00a0to print the gears. \u00a0The removable bed made it easy to access\u00a0the gears. The heated plate makes the small gears adhere nicely.<\/p>\n With a putty knife, \u00a0David removed the gears – you need to get under the raft and twist with a bit of force.<\/p>\n Use\u00a0needle nose pillars to remove the raft.<\/p>\n We printed the base and<\/p>\n assembled the gears and Geneva drive.<\/p>\n David and I\u00a0had so much fun with the new Sindoh 3DWox. \u00a0We got carried away. \u00a0The 3D Printer is\u00a0accurate and repeatable.<\/p>\n After attending Fab Foundation<\/a> events, Fab10 Barcelona and Fab11 Boston, I became fascinated with low cost \u00a03D Printing technology and rapid prototype hands.
