The International Technology and Engineering Educators Association (ITEEA) had its 77th<\/sup> annual conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, last week.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been to ITEEA for a numbers of years, but this year something was different.\u00a0 Yes, Milwaukee is a great city.\u00a0 Teachers joked of a \u201cbeer and motorcycles\u201d theme.\u00a0 But ITEEA\u2019s true theme was \u201cBuilding Technology and Engineering STEM Partnerships.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Harley<\/a><\/p>\n

ITEEA members did not disappoint.\u00a0 Great presentations and exhibitions were given by universities, colleges, and high schools that focused on STEM subjects that are making a difference in jobs.<\/p>\n

\"Frank<\/p>\n

The best comments came from SOLIDWORKS CSWA Academic Providers that can boast how their students get great jobs. After passing the CSWA exam, students become CSWA certified.\u00a0 \u00a0Richard Platt, Sarasota, Florida, has been providing the CSWA exam to both middle school and high school students for years. \u00a0With sound manufacturing skills, his students continue to place high in global competitions and get great jobs – even before they graduate. \u00a0Florida education with SOLIDWORKS is helping to grow young talent in design and manufacturing.<\/p>\n

Students enjoyed showing us their products in SOLIDWORKS.<\/p>\n

\"Rachel<\/p>\n

A major shift is occurring in digital design and digital manufacturing education.\u00a0 Fab Labs from Ohio, Wisconsin and Minnesota showed how they work with students, teachers and communities.\u00a0 Started by the Fab Foundation, Fab Labs continues to grow in both US and world-wide locations providing access to communities of all ages to learn and to do.<\/p>\n

Thank you ITEEA for a great event.<\/p>\n
