Engineering girls love to create things, design things, make things, and have fun. \u00a0Girls of all ages\u00a0will be watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and see\u00a0a new engineering role model, Goldie. \u00a0Goldie is the creation of engineer, Debbie Sterling, that founded the company GoldieBlox, the engineering toy company for girls.<\/p>\n

\"GoldieBlox_SpinningMachine_HiRes\"\"GoldieBlox_DunkTank_HiRes\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The Goldie Blox float, The Girl Powered Spinning Machine, will feature engineering principles just like the Goldie Blox construction toys and book series, the Spinning Machine, the Parade Float, and the Dunk Tank.<\/p>\n

There is a strong message behind the float, girls can design and build their own float. \u00a0Girls can design and build almost anything. Little girls need to hear and see Goldie’s message. \u00a0We need more girls in Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) field to solve so many of the world’s problems.<\/p>\n

Last year, FIRST Robotics<\/a> FRC Teams,\u00a0Team 1538, The Holy Cows, from San Diego, CA; Team 1477, Texas Torque, from The Woodlands, TX; Team 180, S.P.A.M., from Stuart, FL; Team 16, The Bomb Squad, from Mountain Home, AK; and Team 25, Raider Robotix, from North Brunswick, NJ, led the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. \u00a0FIRST Robotics has\u00a0done so much to help engineering girls in STEM.
