National University of Singapore<\/a> (NUS) is one of the leading engineering institutions in the world. When you walk towards the engineering building you are greeted by its mission, “to nurture\u00a0engineer-leaders and to address global challenges through research, innovation, inspiration and influence”<\/p>\n

\"Chevy<\/p>\n

It was truly an honor to step onto this\u00a0 campus to visit one of the leading engineering educators of the SOLIDWORKS community, Professor Lee Kim Seng<\/strong>. \u00a0Professor Lee was introduced to us by\u00a0his former student,\u00a0Chevy Kok<\/strong>, Chief Technical Officer, 3D ClassWorks<\/a>, our Value Added Reseller.<\/p>\n

\"NUS<\/p>\n

Since 2003, Professor Lee has been using web based techniques in his\u00a0Engineering Visualization & Modeling course using SOLIDWORKS. \u00a0Over the years, NUS students have become true leaders in their designs in competitions all over the world. \u00a0Just this year, the SOLIDWORKS EDU team has seen NUS students perform well at FSAE Michigan, AUVSI Foundation RoboSub and last week at Maritime RobotX.<\/p>\n

We got to visit with the Formula SAE teams and engineering students.<\/p>\n

\"SolidWorks<\/a><\/p>\n

You\u00a0notice walking through the engineering halls of NUS that it is filled with women engineering students – 27% which is high compared to US overall standards in mechanical engineering.<\/p>\n

\"Yong<\/p>\n

Kunhimohamed Naduvanchery,<\/strong> founder of 3D ClassWorks explained how NUS is now one of the largest providers of the Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA) exam to its students – providing a credential that students\u00a0can take with them for skilled employment. \u00a0The opportunity to get the job of her dreams with SOLIDWORKS,was even featured in the valedictorian’s speech at this year’s \u00a0graduation. \u00a0Chevy continues to return to\u00a0NUS\u00a0to volunteer his time to teach courses on advanced\u00a0SOLIDWORKS Simulation to students.<\/p>\n

\"NUS<\/p>\n

We toured the NUS High School that also uses SOLIDWORKS. These students and their projects were impressive.<\/p>\n

We also got to see the community outreach 3D ClassWorks does in the community by building young students confidence with an outreach sailing program in Singapore harbor, providing children an opportunity to build employable skills such as teamwork, commitment and solving a problem through trial and error.<\/p>\n

We appreciate NUS as a customer over all these years and we will continue to work with them for student success. \u00a0Thank you Professor Lee<\/strong>, Kunhi<\/strong>, and Chevy<\/strong> for sharing with the SOLIDWORKS Community. \u00a0Marie<\/p>\n
