\"Texas<\/a><\/p>\n

University of Texas – Arlington<\/a> (UT-Arlington) hosted the 14th annual “Texas Autocross Weekend” July 11 –\u00a013, 2014, under the direction of Dr. Bob Woods.<\/strong> \u00a0 The original intent was for Texas and Oklahoma schools to get together, but the event\u00a0has grown to be a North American\u00a0event to observe cars in a more relaxed setting than the high pressure competitive FSAE race events at\u00a0Michigan Speedway \u00a0and Lincoln, Nebraska.<\/p>\n

\"Lancer<\/p>\n

There were 25 cars at the event, with over 50 drivers and 10 teams, \u00a0University of Texas at Arlington, Texas A&M, University of Texas, University of New Mexico, Oklahoma State University, University of North Texas, Kansas University, Auburn University, University of Oklahoma, University of Windsor<\/p>\n

On Friday, UTA opened its shop to the teams to tour its\u00a0Arnold E. Petsche Center for Automotive Engineering showcase room, view a\u00a0fleet of 20 vehicles, and provide a quality upgraded automotive shop to teams to do any last minute repairs.<\/p>\n

\"Pizza<\/p>\n

Dave Schaller<\/strong> and the GoEngineer<\/a>\u00a0Texas team provided training to FSAE teams to help students be more successful in the design and analysis of their cars. \u00a0Pizza and SolidWorks training go well together. \u00a0Dave and GoEngineer have been supporting FSAE teams for over 10 years.<\/p>\n

\"Univeristy<\/p>\n

I have seen Dave in the garage at Texas A&M and judging at Formula Hybrid in New Hampshire. \u00a0 He is a mentor to these teams and provides great insight\u00a0into the rules and the competition.<\/p>\n

\"GoEngineer<\/p>\n

Dave\u00a0closed the night out by giving SolidWorks backpacks to the FSAE teams. \u00a0Thank you Dave and UTA for sharing with FSAE teams and the SolidWorks Community. \u00a0Marie<\/p>\n
