The cars are built with a team effort over a period of about one year and are taken to the annual competition for judging and comparison with approximately 100 other race cars from colleges and universities throughout the world. For 6 years, Aztec Racing has used SolidWorks.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/3\/SDSU-Team-Working-on-Car.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"SDSU Team Working on Car\" src=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/3\/SDSU-Team-Working-on-Car-300x271.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"271\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/3\/Team-working-on-car2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Team working on car2\" src=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/3\/Team-working-on-car2-199x300.jpg\" width=\"199\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The end result is a great experience for young students in a meaningful engineering project as well as the opportunity of working in a dedicated team effort.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/LYArPm947ho\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The SOLIDWORKS EDU team has seen the Aztec Racing team perform exceptional well year over year at SAE events.\u00a0 The team is well organized and runs like a small company under the direction of <b>Matthew Dulog<\/b>, president, with <b>Anthony Gustavo Maldonado<\/b>, vice president and <b>Simon Weber<\/b>, Chief Engineer. \u00a0I got a chance to talk to Matthew and asked why does the team use SolidWorks? \u00a0He said,\u00a0&#8220;SolidWorks is intuitive and easy to use. \u00a0Also it has a more appealing UI than most cad programs.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/3\/Aztec-Racing-SDSU-Formula-SAE-Team-at-SolidWorks-World.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Aztec Racing  - SDSU Formula SAE Team at SolidWorks World\" src=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/3\/Aztec-Racing-SDSU-Formula-SAE-Team-at-SolidWorks-World-300x146.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"146\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>SolidWorks provides the team with the essential tools to design and analyze the car.\u00a0 <b>Juan<\/b> <b>Carlos<\/b> <b>Campos<\/b> leads body design, <b>Gonzalo<\/b> <b>Vasquez<\/b>, wheels, <b>Daniel<\/b> <b>Chance<\/b>, chassis, <b>Max<\/b> <b>Rooney<\/b> drivetrain, <b>Ben<\/b> <b>Cadua<\/b> and <b>Theo<\/b> <b>Noodeloos<\/b> driver controls, <b>Anthony<\/b> <b>Guevara<\/b>, suspension.\u00a0 Don\u2019t forget the business side, <b>Oliver<\/b> <b>Weber<\/b>,business and sponsorship.
