{"id":5316,"date":"2014-01-04T12:36:31","date_gmt":"2014-01-04T17:36:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.solidworks.com\/teacher\/?p=5316"},"modified":"2014-01-05T09:09:48","modified_gmt":"2014-01-05T14:09:48","slug":"first-frc-solidworks-kit-of-parts-kop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.solidworks.com\/teacher\/2014\/01\/first-frc-solidworks-kit-of-parts-kop.html","title":{"rendered":"FIRST FRC SolidWorks Kit of Parts (KOP)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/3\/KitBot-in-SolidWorks-HR.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"KitBot in SolidWorks HR\" src=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/3\/KitBot-in-SolidWorks-HR-300x207.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"207\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>US FIRST FRC Kickoff revealed a new challenge to robot teams around the world. \u00a0And to help with that challenge, SolidWorks created a KitBot and SolidWorks KOP to start off the games.<\/p>\n<p>FRC Teams can download the SolidWorks Kit of Parts (KOP) and the KitBot from www.solidworks.com\/FIRST.<\/p>\n<p>FRC Teams can apply for SolidWorks sponsorship at www.solidworks.com\/FIRST.<\/p>\n<p>Teams receive:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>SolidWorks 3D CAD<\/li>\n<li>SolidWorks Electrical<\/li>\n<li>SolidWorks Simulation<\/li>\n<li>Workgroup PDM<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Thank you to\u00a0<strong>TJ Watson<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Brad Miller<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Bertan Atamer (BA)<\/strong>\u00a0from WPI, <strong>Andy Mark<\/strong> for their SolidWorks model, and <strong>Collin Fultz<\/strong> from US FIRST for helping us achieve this KOP!<\/p>\n<p>We will let you know when the Game pieces and the SolidWorks Electrical KOP becomes available. \u00a0We had to wait for the game to be announced to develop these models.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Easy to Customize SolidWorks for KOP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Follow these instructions to customize SolidWorks with your own FIRST Library:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Download the<strong> FIRST_FRC_SOLIDWORKS_KOP<\/strong> from www.solidworks.com\/FIRST.<\/li>\n<li>Unzip the file. \u00a0There are three folders: BlackTote, GreenTote and Kitbot and a Getting Started file.<\/li>\n<li>Read the <strong>Getting Started<\/strong> text file.<\/li>\n<li>Start <strong>SolidWorks <\/strong>from the Desktop.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Add Folders<\/strong> from the Design Library.<\/li>\n<li>Browse to your<strong> FIRST_FRC_SOLIDWORKS_KOP<\/strong> folder<\/li>\n<li>Now the FIRST_FRC_SOLIDWORKS_KOP folder is displayed in the Design Library<\/li>\n<li>Click on a <strong>folder<\/strong> to reveal all the KOP components.<\/li>\n<li>Click and drag a <strong>component<\/strong> into a SolidWorks assembly<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/3\/Design-Library-Add-File-Location.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Design Library Add File Location\" src=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/3\/Design-Library-Add-File-Location-267x300.jpg\" width=\"267\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/3\/Design-Library-Kitbot-Parts.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Design Library Kitbot Parts\" src=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/3\/Design-Library-Kitbot-Parts-112x300.jpg\" width=\"112\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Can&#8217;t wait to share your robot designs with the SolidWorks Community. \u00a0\u00a0Marie<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>US FIRST FRC Kickoff revealed a new challenge to robot teams around the world. \u00a0And to help with that challenge, SolidWorks created a KitBot and SolidWorks KOP to start off the games.
