{"id":43,"date":"2013-04-21T17:19:25","date_gmt":"2013-04-21T21:19:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.solidworks.com\/teacher\/mass-art-students-show-true-colors-at-idsa-northeast"},"modified":"2013-04-21T17:19:25","modified_gmt":"2013-04-21T21:19:25","slug":"mass-art-students-show-true-colors-at-idsa-northeast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.solidworks.com\/teacher\/2013\/04\/mass-art-students-show-true-colors-at-idsa-northeast.html","title":{"rendered":"Mass Art Students Show True Colors at IDSA Northeast"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"asset-img-link\" href=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/3\/6a00d83451706569e201901b76b915970b.jpg\" style=\"display: inline;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Color defines culture Gary Natsume ECCO Design NE ISDA 2013\" border=\"0\" class=\"asset  asset-image at-xid-6a00d83451706569e201901b76b915970b image-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/3\/6a00d83451706569e201901b76b915970b-800wi.jpg\" title=\"Color defines culture Gary Natsume ECCO Design NE ISDA 2013\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This weekend at the Industrial Design Society of&#0160;America (IDSA)&#0160;Northeast, I learned from Gary Natsume, Vice President of ECCO Design, that color is &quot;one of the most critical elements that define our cultural nuances and identity.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>As Mass Art students prepared to attend&#0160;IDSA Northeast, they woke Friday morning to no public transportation and a shelter in place order in the Longwood\/Fenway area of Boston, due to last week\u2019s tragic events.&#0160; <\/p>\n<p><a class=\"asset-img-link\" href=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/3\/6a00d83451706569e2017d42ffc81e970c.jpg\" style=\"display: inline;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Carols Escobar and Lars Fischer Mass Art IDSA NE 2013\" border=\"0\" class=\"asset  asset-image at-xid-6a00d83451706569e2017d42ffc81e970c image-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/3\/6a00d83451706569e2017d42ffc81e970c-800wi.jpg\" title=\"Carols Escobar and Lars Fischer Mass Art IDSA NE 2013\" \/><\/a><br \/><a class=\"asset-img-link\" href=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/3\/6a00d83451706569e201901b76c011970b.jpg\" style=\"display: inline;\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mass Art students rallied around their merit award representative, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coroflot.com\/carlosescobar\" target=\"_self\" title=\"Carlos Escobar Mass Art ISDA\">Carlos Escobar<\/a>, and found one car to drive to the event in Hartford, Connecticut by Friday afternoon.&#0160; A total of 45 students and their faculty advisor, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.massart.edu\/lars_fischer.html\" target=\"_self\" title=\"Lars Fischer Mass Art\">Lars Fischer<\/a>, made it Saturday morning to cheer on Carlos.&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<a href=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/3\/6a00d83451706569e201901b76c011970b.jpg\" style=\"display: inline;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"IDSA NE 2013 Carlos Escobar Presentation\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/3\/6a00d83451706569e201901b76c011970b-600wi.jpg\" title=\"IDSA NE 2013 Carlos Escobar Presentation\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In&#0160;10 minutes, Carlos presented his portfolio that consisted of three projects.&#0160; I listened to the multiple redesigns&#0160;for product improvement of the &quot;dish&quot; project and the design research project to make traveling feel like home.
