Three words&#0160;the <strong>University of Maine &#8211; Black Bear Racing <\/strong>team needed to hear in their light, quick, and affordable race car.<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<a class=\"asset-img-link\" href=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/3\/6a00d83451706569e201901c29c17d970b.jpg\" style=\"display: inline;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"University of Maryland FSAE\" border=\"0\" class=\"asset  asset-image at-xid-6a00d83451706569e201901c29c17d970b image-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/3\/6a00d83451706569e201901c29c17d970b-800wi.jpg\" title=\"University of Maryland FSAE\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Before any car races on the track, the vehicle must pass a series of technical inspections. &#0160;<strong>University of Maryland<\/strong>&#0160;racing team passed inspection. I had a chance to review the team&#39;s&#0160;aerodynamic front and rear wings &#8211; impressive.&#0160; <\/p>\n<p>My husband David recorded some of the inspections so I can share with you.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Vr0PR6g4Jn4\" width=\"560\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Drivers must&#0160;exit the vehicle in 5 seconds or less.&#0160;&#0160;&#0160; You can almost feel the drivers heart pounding. <strong>Southern&#0160; Polytechnic State University<\/strong> from Georgia shows you how it is done.<\/p>\n<p>How long can your car hang on its side?&#0160; <strong>Universidad Simon Bolivar <\/strong>from Venezula shows you in this video.&#0160; Just when you think you are tilted enough, the driver must hold on&#0160;- watch til the end.&#0160;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KRMvTy-JThc\" width=\"560\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>These students love engineering and it shows.&#0160; Marie<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We passed inspection!
