How do you go from engineering student to a great design and manufacturing engineer?  You start with dedication in your heart and training from SolidWorks Customer, Mr. Yuuichi Minamiyama<\/strong>, GAC Corporation<\/a>, a global leader in advanced automotive systems.<\/p>\n

 \u201cBecome a Great Engineer \u201c   was the theme at last week\u2019s SolidWorks Japan FSAE seminar.<\/p>\n

 \"FSAE<\/a><\/p>\n

Nihon University<\/a>, Tokyo hosted 130 students for SolidWorks training.  Some teams came from afar like Tohoku University<\/a> (260 miles) and Toyohashi University of Technology<\/a> (180 miles).  <\/p>\n

 \"FSAE<\/a><\/p>\n

Students came from 15 FSAE teams:<\/p>\n

l  Chiba University<\/p>\n

l  Keio University<\/p>\n

l  Kogakuin University<\/p>\n

l  Kokushikan University<\/p>\n

l  Nihon University<\/p>\n

l  Nippon Institute of Technology<\/p>\n

l  Shonan Institute of Technology<\/p>\n

l  Tohoku University<\/p>\n

l  Tokai University<\/p>\n

l  Tokyo City University<\/p>\n

l  Tokyo University of Science<\/p>\n

l  Toyohashi University of Technology<\/p>\n

l  Waseda University<\/p>\n

l  Yokohama National University<\/p>\n

84% of the students were freshman and sophomores with little experience.  But these students, with strong motivation, continued to push the instructor for more SolidWorks examples in part modeling, top-down and bottom up assembly modeling, design optimization, and professional presentation. <\/p>\n

 \"FSAE<\/a><\/p>\n

SolidWorks Japan application engineers helped out as teaching assistants, TAs, bringing their industry experience directly into the large classroom.<\/p>\n

When my friend, Junko and I get together, we always talk about FSAE students and what we can do to help them be more successful to start their engineering careers.   A great first step is to take a SolidWorks FSAE seminar.    For those students who cannot attend SolidWorks Japan training, we have FSAE tutorials through team sponsorship at www.solidworks.com\/sae<\/a><\/p>\n

It takes alot of engineering and dedication to design and manufacture competitive cars like this one from Yokohama National University<\/a>.    Yokohama students also help young campers learn about engineering during SolidWorks Japan  Kids Camp<\/a>.<\/p>\n
