{"id":247,"date":"2011-09-01T16:31:27","date_gmt":"2011-09-01T20:31:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.solidworks.com\/teacher\/linking-undergraduate-engineering-curriculum-around-solidworks"},"modified":"2011-09-01T16:31:27","modified_gmt":"2011-09-01T20:31:27","slug":"linking-undergraduate-engineering-curriculum-around-solidworks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.solidworks.com\/teacher\/2011\/09\/linking-undergraduate-engineering-curriculum-around-solidworks.html","title":{"rendered":"Linking Undergraduate Engineering Curriculum Around SolidWorks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a title=\"University of Western Ontario Engineering\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eng.uwo.ca\/\" target=\"_self\">University of Western Ontario<\/a>, under the direction of&nbsp;&nbsp;<a title=\"Paul Kurowski\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eng.uwo.ca\/people\/pkurowski\/publications.htm\" target=\"_self\">Paul Kurowski<\/a>, has built an&nbsp;undergraduate design curriculum around SolidWorks. A number of non-design courses are&nbsp;also linked to that design stream. Graduating students leave&nbsp; UWO with working knowledge of CAD and Simulation&nbsp;and with software skills ready for industrial implementation.&nbsp; I was fortunate that Dr Kurowski has shared his research and program with all of you.&nbsp; His paper, COURSE LINKING IN THE UNDERGRADUATE CURRICULUM AT WESTERN ENGINEERING, was published in the <a title=\"CEEA conference 2010\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ceea.ca\/EN\/Conferences\/2010\/index.php\" target=\"_self\">CEEA 2010 Conference <\/a>last year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a style=\"display: inline;\" href=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/3\/6a00d83451706569e2015391375b1c970b.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"asset  asset-image at-xid-6a00d83451706569e2015391375b1c970b image-full\" title=\"Slide7\" src=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/3\/6a00d83451706569e2015391375b1c970b-800wi.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Slide7\" \/><\/a>&nbsp;<br \/>&nbsp;In his research,&nbsp;a well established system of grading is used to verify if the understanding of course based knowledge has been effective.
