The EPFL Rocket Team<\/a> achieved many accomplishments at this year’s EuRoc 2022<\/a> Adventure Challenge in Portugal.<\/p>\n The team won the\u00a0 9 km Solid Flight Award<\/strong>, as well as 3rd place overall and 2nd place for the Technical Report and for the Team Effort.\u00a0 They surpassed the symbolic height of 9000m for the first time.<\/p>\n To be precise, according to their flight computers, EPFL reached between 9467 and 9596 meters. We also achieved our goal of going supersonic, by breaking for the first time the sound barrier with a top speed of Mach 1.6 [1900km\/h]!<\/p>\n The EPFL Rocket Team was founded in 2017 by student engineers who wanted to put their theoretical skills into practice through an interdisciplinary project. They set themselves the challenge of participating in the largest international rocket launch competition; the Spaceport America Cup, which takes place every year in the United States of America.
