Happy 234th U.S. Coast Guard Birthday - Celebrating with Veterans Too

On August 4, 2024, the U.S. Coast Guard celebrated its 234th birthday. Living along Massachusetts Bay, the lobster boats, commercial vessels, and pleasure craft are fortunate that the U. S. Coast Guard is close at hand.

I am fortunate to be located between two U.S. Coast Guard stations, living in an area with Coast Guard active duty, Veterans and former students that through the Veterans programs at Mass Bay Community College, received associate degrees, certificates and learned SOLIDWORKS in school.

But what if you are a Military Veteran and not in school? U.S..Coast Guard Veterans and all US/Canadian Military Veterans have access to the SOLIDWORKS Military Veterans program that offers SOLIDWORKS Student Edition at a discounted rate.

US Military Veterans supported include all Armed Forces, as defined in 5 U.S.C. 2101(2), “Armed Forces” means the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard.

What if you do not have a computer that cannot run SOLIDWORKS? The 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS for Makers has cloud based CAD apps that you can learn about design with apps like SOLIDWORKS xDesign and xShape through a web browser.

All SOLIDWORKS software comes with online video learning tutorials and a online SOLIDWORKS community and Makers community.

Also the SOLIDWORKS Student Edition provides Veterans the opportunity to take two SOLIDWORKS certification exams, the Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate (CSWA) and Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional (CSWP) exams.
