Happy New Year! As my first post of 2023, I am excited to announce Dassault Systèmes and the SOLIDWORKS brand’s sponsorship to all FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) teams, with FREE software and community support. Charged Up(SM) presented by Haas, kickoff is this Saturday January 7, 2023 12PM ET.

With the help of the 3DEXPERIENCE EDU team we are providing all FRC teams our latest software technology with SOLIDWORKS desktop for Windows, SOLIDWORKS Cloud Apps 100% browser-based, and Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE platform technology. All teams can go to www.solidworks.com/FIRST for software sponsorship. And yes, software is FREE for FIRST teams.

With SOLIDWORKS desktop for Windows, students can create parts, assemblies, drawings, simulation, instruction documents, sheet metal, plastic-molded parts, photo-realistic images and electrical schematics.

With SOLIDWORKS Cloud Apps students can work on Chomebooks, MAC or tablets and create parts and assemblies.

With both SOLIDWORKS desktop and the 3DEXPERIENCE Cloud platform, teams are given the Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) tools to define revisions, change history, lock/unlock documents in a collaborative environment.

We have a Student Community for FRC designers and mentors to ask our engineers. The Student Community Wiki provides access to our FRC Kit of Parts in SOLIDWORKS desktop Windows and cloud formats. We also have created a special dashboard for all teams to access our FRC/FTC User Library.
