Abaqus Image and Animation Contest

Abaqus_Auxetic_foam_stress

My friends at Abaqus have put together a really cool analysis contest.  Are you ready to create really great images or videos in Abaqus like this one, an Auxetic Foam Stress analysis?  The image above is courtesy of Dr. Georges Limbert from University of South Hampton, UK.  You can win an iPad and bragging rights.  There is a category for both students and commercial users.

Abaqus Student Winner Hong Kong Polytechnic University

Previous student winner, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, created an animation.  In Abaqus, you can simulate human skin, muscles, joints, and bones of a foot.  You can read about the research behind the foot in the academic technical paper written by Jason Cheung and Ming Zhang.

If you want to become more familiar with Abaqus you can get the Abaqus Student Edition on our SolidWorks Student Store or check out your college campus.

In Abaqus, there is a direct connection to SolidWorks.  You can work between both software applications.

Abaqus can perform finite element analysis on some pretty complex problems – ever wonder what happens to the crash test dummies?

Click here for contest information.   I can't wait to see the entries.  Good luck.  Marie
