Why did you choose to do the work you do?
It started in a training session I was giving for SolidWorks. Besides putting people to sleep with a monotone voice, I had an interest in the aircraft field and the time was right for me to get into that industry. So, I started down the path of aircraft interior engineering and using SolidWorks to develop the main structures for the VIP aircraft.

2. What is your proudest career moment?
I'd say that it's the best experience to see someone get choked up with happiness with the work they've done. Besides a general statement like that, it's pretty cool to know that someone is taking a nap on the king-size bed you designed for their airplane.

3. What goal do you have that inspires you most?
If there was one thing that drives me, it's showing others (and specifically my kids) what is possible. Seeing a person's face after something clicks is kinda funny and also seeing their reaction to how a product is created reveals their interest in what they are capable of.

4. How has SolidWorks made a difference in your life?
SolidWorks has been the main modeling program I've used since 1996. It's the first program I use to try a new concept. It's developed how I think about creating objects that can be manufactured. It's also been the main focus for content on SolidSmack.com and because of that I've gotten to know a lot of people in the SolidWorks and CAD community.

5. What do you do for fun, and what’s your favorite food?
If I'm not working on home renovations, I'll be working on web, graphic or product designs or running about in the outdoors. My favorite food would be any type of Thai food, followed by cheese, but preceded by cookies.

Thanks to Josh for taking the time to talk.
