Everyone loves a green lawn.\u00a0 Throughout the U.S., lush, well-groomed lawns denote a sense of prosperity. Let\u2019s face it, many of us spend hours upon hours tending our lawns.\u00a0 According to Gitnux<\/a>, homeowners in the U.S. spend approximately \u201c40 billion annually on lawn care services.\u201d \u00a0According to the EPA<\/a> however, \u00a0up to \u201c50% of the water used outdoors to irrigate lawns and other sources is lost due to wind, evaporation and runoff caused by inefficient irrigation methods and systems. A household with an automatic irrigation system that isn\u2019t properly maintained and operated can waste up to 25,000 gallons of water annually..\u201d<\/em>\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0That, my friends, is a lot of water!!!<\/p>\n

Today we are speaking with Ali Sabti, founder of Oto Lawn<\/a>, a developer of environmentally sustainable irrigation systems. \u00a0Ali\u2019s \u201cjourney\u201d began at a very young age. While still in grade school, the insatiably curious and clever young Ali learned to code and built his school\u2019s first website. His entrepreneurial drive continued through high school where developed several e-commerce sites.<\/p>\n

The idea for Oto Lawn came several years later after Ali, (now a full-fledged mechanical engineer), had purchased his first home.\u00a0 Environmentally friendly solutions for lawn care and in particular, lawn irrigation systems were not readily accessible. Never one to back away from a challenge, Ali put his problem solving skills to work.<\/p>\n
