It\u2019s also a good time to bring users up to speed on what we\u2019ve done in 2022 to make sure they are using the software to its fullest potential.<\/p>\n<p>In this blog I\u2019ll walk you through some of the key enhancements that have been added in the quarterly functional deliveries (FD) to the SOLIDWORKS cloud-connected roles, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solidworks.com\/lp\/3dexperience-solidworks-offers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>3D<\/strong>EXPERIENCE\u00ae SOLIDWORKS<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solidworks.com\/product\/collaborative-designer-solidworks\">Collaborative Designer for SOLIDWORKS<\/a>. These roles enable SOLIDWORKS users to connect their data to the <strong>3D<\/strong>EXPERIENCE platform; and leverage its cloud-based data management and collaboration capabilities. Here is a look back at what&#8217;s been added thus far in 2022.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3D<\/strong><strong>EXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>February 2022 Update R2022x FD01<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Featured Updates:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Add Bookmarks While Saving to the<strong>3D<\/strong>EXPERIENCE platform<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In FD01 we added the ability to specify a Bookmark for new content when uploading in Batch Save to <strong>3D<\/strong>EXPERIENCE so you can keep your data more organized.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Access Information Panel from MySession<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Access this command in the Action bar to pull up the Information Panel in MySession. From this panel you can access various information from your selected object such as:<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Properties<br \/>\n\u2013 Sharing<br \/>\n\u2013 Comment<br \/>\n\u2013 Relations<br \/>\n\u2013 Derived Outputs<br \/>\n\u2013 Revisions<br \/>\n\u2013 Specification Documents<br \/>\n\u2013 Attachments<\/p>\n<p>This capability puts all information right at your fingertips and minimizes app switching.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"thumbnail wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/10\/information20panel20fd01oct6blog2022.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"542\" \/><figcaption class=\"caption wp-caption-text\">Easily pull up the Information Panel in MySession to access key component attributes with a single click.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Streamlined Collaboration Between Platform Users<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Easily bring in non-native components created in 3D Creator or 3D Sculptor into your SOLIDWORKS assemblies. You can then create SOLIDWORKS-derived parts from those inserted components. Simply right click and search for the non-native files and bring them into your SOLIDWORKS environment to add them to your design.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.solidworks.com\/solidworksblog\/2022\/05\/collaboration-just-got-faster-easier-and-smarter-in-the-3dexperience-solidworks-spring-update.html\"><strong>April 2022 Update R2022x FD02<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Featured Update:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Maturity Transition Rule for Drawing Related Objects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Set a maturity transition rule for your drawings in the Change Maturity tab to ensure all components are ready for the next phase of your workflow, such as a design studies, prototyping, design engineering and release to manufacturing. For instance, you can block a drawing\u2019s transition if its\u2019 components are not in the targeted maturity state. When you do a search on the <strong>3D<\/strong>EXPERIENCE platform for the folder it will include all the subfolders, so you no longer have to reference your local folder structure on your desktop, which will save you time and help you stay organized.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"thumbnail wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/10\/batch20save20keeps20folder20structure20fd0blog2oct62022.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"879\" \/><figcaption class=\"caption wp-caption-text\">You can classify data under a bookmark structure that reflects the local folder and easily access it on the 3DEXPEREINCE platform.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Learn more about this release <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.solidworks.com\/solidworksblog\/2022\/05\/collaborative-designer-for-solidworks-now-provides-easier-access-to-your-data-and-smooths-out-data-exchange.html\">here<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.solidworks.com\/solidworksblog\/2022\/07\/ramp-up-your-solidworks-on-game-the-cloud-with-simplified-search-and-sharing.html\">July 2022 Update (R2022x FD03)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0Featured Update:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Prepare Data as a Package for External Sharing Straight from 3DDrive AND Add a Drawing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You now have more great options for preparing and sharing data with external stakeholders with the ability to package data via 3DDrive on the <strong>3D<\/strong>EXPERIENCE platform; and also add a drawing to the existing package.<\/p>\n<p>From the Unified X-CAD Design Exchanger dialog box you\u2019ll now notice a new 3DDrive option under Destination where you assign your package name, in addition to the local drive option. You can also set up access rights for the recipient such as Read-only or Edit. In this release we also added the capability to add associated drawings to your package for export as well.<\/p>\n<p>Learn more about this release\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.solidworks.com\/solidworksblog\/2022\/07\/ramp-up-your-solidworks-on-game-the-cloud-with-simplified-search-and-sharing.html\">here<\/a>. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.solidworks.com\/solidworksblog\/2022\/09\/share-solidworks-data-externally-directly-from-the-3dexperience-platform.html\"><strong>September 2022 Update (R2022x FD04)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>3D<\/strong>EXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS and Collaborative Designer for SOLIDWORKS<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s a glimpse of what\u2019s been done in the latest releases of R2022x FD04 for both cloud-connected roles <strong>3D<\/strong>EXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS and Collaborative Designer for SOLIDWORKS.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Featured Updates: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Data Extraction Utility<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Project members who have the Product Structure Explorer app can access native SOLIDWORKS data speeding up collaboration time.
