You might remember that back in 2009 we launched a section on our website<\/a> dedicated to Baker Drivetrain, a new customer at the time. These guys work on some really cool parts for motorcycles–in fact, they developed the world's first seven-speed transmission for bikes. They started out making a vibration-reducing six-speed tranny for Harley-Davidsons, and have since gone on to develop a lineup of OEM and aftermarket transmissions, primary drive units, and clutches.<\/p>\n

The guys at Baker Drivetrain were nice enough to work with us on a case study, which helps explain how they decided on SolidWorks because it is the most intuitive and easiest-to-use 3D design system, and enhances design communication. As a result, they've seen design time speed up by 50% to 75%, prototype cycles shorten by 50% to 75%, and scrap and rework cut down by 30%.<\/p>\n
