But is that actually true? Traditional desktop CAD systems typically require serious CPU and GPU. Installs are large and upgrades are non-trivial.<\/p>\n<p>Browser-based CAD systems have been on the rise, especially for small project requirements. Since the entire CAD application is running inside a browser, there is no install needed and upgrades happen automatically on the cloud. Also, the user can use these CAD systems on multiple platforms and devices if they have access to a standard browser\u2014from any location.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.solidworks.com\/product\/3d-creator\">3DCreator<\/a> from Dassault Syst\u00e8mes SOLIDWORKS is one such CAD system that runs in a browser. Is the gap closing between what is possible on a desktop versus in a browser?<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/08\/mri_1.png\" width=\"800\" height=\"416\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>MRI Scans<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is an anatomically accurate human male created from full-body MRI scans provided to SOLIDWORKS by partner <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zygote.com\/\">Zygote<\/a>, which maintains one of the world\u2019s most comprehensive libraries of accurate 3D anatomy and biomedical models.
