My son once asked me \u201cwhat does an engineer do?\u201d He was four and I had been working as a mechanical engineer for around ten years at that point. All I could come up with for an answer is \u201cengineers make everything you see in the world.\u201d Pretty profound answer to try to explain to a four-year-old. His response was right to the point: \u201cyou\u2019re not God.\u201d<\/p>\n

Too true a statement, but in the end, pretty much every man-made object that you see in the world had some sort of engineer behind it!<\/p>\n

Now, my son is nine and I have a five-year-old daughter. Besides trying to teach them both about gravity before they were two, I\u2019ve been trying to teach them a foundation in math and science over the years. With this, we decided as a family that we would also like to share some of those moments with the world and other families that may not have a solid understanding of math and science.<\/p>\n
