Ever wonder why they’re so excited? Here are a few reasons our community loves to present:

1. FREE ADMISSION!!
Well, that’s one reason, and a fairly popular one at that. Free admission to the world largest 3D CAD conference is a nice perk, but bear with me and I’ll show you that there are more (and better) benefits to be had when you present a technical session at a SOLIDWORKS World conference.

2. Become a Better SOLIDWORKS User
Einstein said it best, “If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.” One of the best ways to improve your SOLIDWORKS skills is to teach others. Creating a presentation for SOLIDWORKS World is a great way to further educate yourself on topics you’re familiar with, or to learn a lot about a topic you’re not so familiar with. In the process, you may find a new approach to something you do every day. This approach often is an immediate timesaver, or a more robust method that will save you time in the long run. It is a win-win, as they say!

3. Relieve Your Glossophobia
You won’t find the term “Glossophobia” in the dictionary, but according to Wikipedia, it’s the fear of public speaking. The best way to conquer your fears is to face them head-on, and where better to do it than in a constructive setting with other like-minded peers who probably have the same challenges and questions you do?

4. Network with the Best Users in our Community
The research and preparation for your session can actually help you meet people from the SOLIDWORKS Community. Head over to our SOLIDWORKS Discussion Forums and let fellow SOLIDWORKS users know that you are preparing a presentation and ask them what they would like to see, or what they think should absolutely be included. You might also reach out to your local SOLIDWORKS User Group chapter and ask for a chance to practice (and polish) your presentation at the next meeting. Your fellow meeting attendees may also have some advice on how to improve the presentation.

5. Boost Your Resume
Adding SOLIDWORKS World Presenter or subject matter expert to your resume might give it the boost needed to push it to the top of the pile. Speakers also get a nice ribbon to add to their event badge, and with thousands of users on-site, it’s a great place to network and look for that next great career move.

It’s not too late to get started – we are looking at and approving sessions in the coming weeks. There’s usually room for late entries, but you never know! Better safe than sorry – submit your abstract today!

Stay tuned for a future post discussing some Tips & Tricks on getting your presentation accepted.
