{"id":3487,"date":"2017-03-01T15:10:00","date_gmt":"2017-03-01T21:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.solidworks.com\/swcommunity\/?p=3487"},"modified":"2017-08-25T07:48:34","modified_gmt":"2017-08-25T11:48:34","slug":"a-quick-look-at-a-reluctant-presenter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.solidworks.com\/solidworksblog\/2017\/03\/a-quick-look-at-a-reluctant-presenter.html","title":{"rendered":"A Quick Look at a Reluctant Presenter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3488\" src=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2017\/03\/Christie-1-461x615.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"461\" height=\"615\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I first met <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.solidworks.com\/swcommunity\/2015\/10\/swugn-group-leader-spotlight-christie-buresh.html\">Christie Buresh<\/a> (nee Reed) at <a href=\"https:\/\/swworld.solidworks.com\/\">SOLIDWORKS World<\/a> 1999 in Palm Springs, and we&#8217;ve been colleagues (and friends) for more than 18 years now.\u00a0 She&#8217;s been leading the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swugn.org\/swugn\/calendar\/ugdetails.htm?id=198\">North Texas SOLIDWORKS User Group<\/a> for 11 of those years, but prior to that, she was an instrumental part of a little thing we used to call the All-Texas SOLIDWORKS User Conference.<\/p>\n<p>Her group members and I often make fun of her meeting announcements &#8211; she leaves 15 minutes for her opening remarks, but never speaks for more than 5 or so.\u00a0 <strong>You see, Christie is kind of shy.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>But last night in Dallas, Christie gave a technical presentation.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>It wasn&#8217;t her first one ever, but they are few and far between.\u00a0 It&#8217;s not that she doesn&#8217;t know her stuff &#8211; she&#8217;s been using SOLIDWORKS for more than 18 years, and has been a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solidworks.com\/sw\/support\/solidworks-certification.htm\">CSWP<\/a> since 2013. She&#8217;s also earned her CSWPA-Drawings,\u00a0CSWPA-Sheet Metal, and CSWPA-Mold Tools certificates on her way to becoming a CSWE.
