Tom Cote joined us as well, but didn&#8217;t get into the picture.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Our out-of-town guests arrived on Monday for the evening reception and a chance to meet fellow SOLIDWORKS users, SOLIDWORKS employees, and press and analysts from all over the world.\u00a0 The food was great, the atmosphere at the Edward M. Kennedy institute was perfect, and that night I heard my favorite story of the week.<\/p>\n<p>Kendra Wardlow, a relative newcomer to the SOLIDWORKS Community (who, by the way, is doing a terrific job with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swugn.org\/swugn\/calendar\/ugdetails.htm?id=507\" target=\"_blank\">Panama City Beach SOLIDWORKS User Group<\/a>) arrived at the reception and was met by our SOLIDWORKS Community Manager <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/racheldianeyork\" target=\"_blank\"><u><span style=\"color: #0066cc\">Rachel York<\/span><\/u><\/a>.\u00a0 Rachel loves to make introductions, so she asked Kendra &#8220;Who would you like to meet first?&#8221;.\u00a0 Kendra looked around at a room filled with SOLIDWORKS executives and high level employees, SOLIDWORKS bloggers, members of the press, and finally concluded <strong>&#8220;I&#8217;d like to meet Phil Sluder please&#8221;.<\/strong> And she did.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2022\" class=\"thumbnail wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2022\" src=\"https:\/\/blog-assets.solidworks.com\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2015\/09\/Bassi_preso-1-615x295.jpg\" alt=\"Bassi_preso\" width=\"800\" height=\"384\" \/><figcaption class=\"caption wp-caption-text\"><em>Gian Paolo Bassi Kicks off the event<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Event day Tuesday\u00a0was exciting for all of us, and the program kicked off with a keynote from SOLIDWORKS CEO Gian Paolo Bassi, followed by several speakers with topics on SOLIDWORKS Electrical, SOLIDWORKS Visualize and the SOLIDWORKS Ecosystem.\u00a0 Next up were three SOLIDWORKS customers; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skully.com\/#smartest-helmet\" target=\"_blank\">Skully<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rethinkrobotics.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">ReThink Robotics<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.strongarmtech.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">StrongArm Technologies<\/a>.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boxxtech.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">BOXX Technologies<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www8.hp.com\/us\/en\/home.html\" target=\"_blank\">HP<\/a> were on-hand as sponsors, and each company had a nice little presentation on their very powerful products. commitment to &#8220;being green&#8221;, the entire entourage was taken through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dassault-aviation.com\/en\/dassault-aviation\/innovation\/the-digital-company\/digital-design\/virtual-reality-center\/\" target=\"_blank\">Virtual Reality Center<\/a> here in Waltham.<\/p>\n<p>Just before we shuttled everyone back to the airport, I put on my reporters hat and asked everyone a few questions.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s what they had to say.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What&#8217;s your favorite new feature in SOLIDWORKS 2016?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jim Lowery &#8211;
