I’m heading to the Minneapolis area on Friday where I’ve been invited to speak to SOLIDWORKS users at The Datacard Group<\/a>, a fantastic company full of SOLIDWORKS users (thanks Gary!).\u00a0 From there I’ll take a quick flight to Chicago and a long drive down to the University of Illinois at\u00a0Urbana-Champaign<\/a> for the first ever student run SOLIDWORKS User Group<\/a>.\u00a0 I’m looking forward to meeting group leader Kevin Hauger<\/strong> and helping to spread some SOLIDWORKS Community joy to students and educators alike.<\/p>\n

Next week I’ll be back in Waltham for a DS SOLIDWORKS company event, but while there I will be presenting a Tips and Tricks session at the Western Mass SOLIDWORKS User Group<\/a> meeting.\u00a0 John Matrishon<\/strong> has been trying to get me out there for years, and the scheduling finally worked out.\u00a0 If I can get away, I’ll also pop in on the New Hampshire SOLIDWORKS User Group<\/a>\u00a0on Thursday the 18th.\u00a0 The last time I made a surprise visit to this group, Cindy Berend<\/strong> was so shocked she forgot my name.<\/p>\n

Eric Beatty<\/strong>, the founder of the very first SOLIDWORKS User Group (SASPUG<\/a>)\u00a0will present at the recently formed SASPUG-SOUTH SOLIDWORKS User Group<\/a> on Tuesday, September 16th.<\/p>\n

Don Glaske<\/strong> is one of two SOLIDWORKS User Group leaders currently handling two different groups (Denny Bahl<\/strong> in Chicago is the other).\u00a0 The Northeast Wisconsin SOLIDWORKS User Group<\/a> will meet on September 16th.<\/p>\n

Mathew Stevenson<\/strong> started the Kern County SOLIDWORKS User Group in September of 2013 and he’s already made quite an impression on the SOLIDWORKS users in the Bakersfield area.\u00a0 Mathew’s energy and communication skills have resulted in a 170% increase in average attendance compared to the original Bakersfield group.\u00a0 Help Mathew bump that up a bit by attending the September 17th meeting<\/a>.<\/p>\n

One of the best SOLIDWORKS User Group meetings I ever attending was at the Northeast Ohio SOLIDWORKS User Group<\/a> back in 2008 when more than 100 people showed up to a meeting held at High Tech Performance Trailers (now Bruce High Performance\u00a0Transporters<\/a>).\u00a0 Next week, new NEOSWUG leaders Craig Reidel<\/strong> and Jerry Kassil<\/strong> hope to beat that record with a meeting they have dubbed “CarnivalWorks”.\u00a0 Check it out – technical content, food and drinks, a vendor faire, and games will make this a must see event.<\/p>\n

Hmmm…Avelino Rochino<\/strong> at a SOLIDWORKS User Group meeting?\u00a0 Don’t be surprised, it happens all the time.\u00a0 Next week Avelino is in Louisville for\u00a0TheSLUG<\/a> meeting on the 17th.<\/p>\n

Luis Rodolfo Coy Avila<\/strong> may have the longest name of any SOLIDWORKS User Group leader.\u00a0 He also runs the only SOLIDWORKS User Group in Colombia, South America<\/a>.\u00a0 Luis’ members get a look at SOLIDWORKS MECHANICAL CONCEPTUAL next week in Bogota.<\/p>\n
