Jim had some very large shoes to fill, taking over for SWUGN Lifetime Achievement recipient Lila Theis. You could tell at the first meeting he was a little nervous, but Jim grew into the role over the years and has done a fantastic job for SASUG.

Jim was an original member of CTSUG until the group split to better serve SolidWorks users in the Austin and San Antonio areas. Since Jim ascended to the leadership role, SASUG meetings have been held at his place of employment, ITM. The meeting room features a wall of SolidWorks model examples from his members, and a plastic sleeve filled with original CD's (and DVD's) of every version of SolidWorks ever released. The wall is a testament to his dedication to SASUG members and to the software he uses every day.

I know Jim was nervous at his first meeting, but over the years he developed quite a rapport with his members. Jim has a great sense of humor, and he uses it to make each and every meeting fun. Jim has also developed into very good presenter – his FloXpress demonstration last night was highly informative and entertaining at the same time.

For four years, Jim has carried the SASUG torch and has now decided to step aside.
